About Punchpad

Punchpad is a Sparktory app for writing comedy, organizing material, recording performances, and reviewing transcripts and source recordings.

Account and material

Sign-in uses your account identifier, email address, and information supplied by your chosen sign-in provider. Punchpad uses a shared Sparktory sign-in. Your Punchpad material includes recordings and imported files, transcripts, Bits, Sets, Workspaces, edits, annotations, assistant conversations, and associated file and timing metadata. Saved material syncs to your account. Device drafts and recordings may remain on your device until saved or uploaded.

Recording and processing

Microphone access is used when you record or dictate. Files you choose to import are uploaded for processing and playback. Supabase provides account, database, and file-storage services. ElevenLabs processes audio for transcription and live dictation. AI features use OpenAI and Google models (through OpenRouter) for tasks such as assistance, analysis, and semantic search. These features send the audio, text, queries, or relevant material needed for the requested task to the processing service. Voice assistance can send microphone audio to its voice provider.

Friends and messages

If you add friends, your display name, city and Instagram handle (if you add one) are visible to them. Messages, and recordings or bits you send into a chat, can be seen and played by the people in that chat until you unshare them. Reports you make are seen only by Punchpad.

Storage and diagnostics

Punchpad stores original recordings, transcript versions, annotations, and source references so you can revisit earlier material. Changing the Active version does not erase earlier versions or their recordings. Processing status, errors, and operational diagnostics help identify failed uploads, transcription, playback, and synchronization. Authentication and account-scoped access rules restrict access to saved material.

Deleting Punchpad data

In the app, open Settings, Account, then the Punchpad account-deletion control. The web account-deletion page also provides this control after sign-in. Deletion covers Punchpad material and its app-managed device data; your shared Sparktory sign-in and data in other Sparktory apps remain. The deletion flow reports pending work or errors. It does not erase original files outside the app or copies you exported or shared elsewhere.
